Coding agent
TrendsConnector for Continue
Connect TrendsConnector to Continue as an MCP block. Trend context in VS Code and JetBrains through one open source agent.
Continue loads MCP servers from its config. Add TrendsConnector as an MCP entry with the server URL and your key, and the agent can check trend data during a task. Every series comes back on a shared 0 to 100 index, so one answer can compare Google, YouTube, TikTok, Amazon and the rest without a per platform account, scraper or API key.
Connect in 3 steps

What you can pull
History and growth return weekly points on a 0 to 100 index, with absolute volume where the source provides it. Growth can compare several windows and several sources in one call. Live boards return the current ranked list with no keyword at all. Popular starting points:
Good to know
Continue config formats vary between the hub and local config files. The server URL and Bearer header are the two values that matter either way.
TrendsConnector returns trend data: history, growth and live boards on a normalized scale. It is not a scraper, and it does not return raw posts, videos, listings or personal data. The full client setup reference, including copy paste config for every supported client, is in the docs connect guide.

Questions
Does Continue work in JetBrains too?
Yes. The same config approach covers both the VS Code and JetBrains extensions.
What if the tools do not appear?
Reload the config after editing. MCP servers register when the config loads, not mid session.
Is TrendsConnector free in Continue?
Yes, to start. The Free plan includes 100 requests a month, every data source, and both MCP and API access, with no credit card. Paid plans (Starter $19, Pro $49, Business $199 a month) raise the request limit and history depth. Annual billing saves 20 percent.
Which sources can I query once this is connected?
Every source on the same key: Google Trends, Google Shopping, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Amazon, Wikipedia, news, app, Steam, npm, PyPI, X, Spotify, GitHub, IMDb, Open Library, Substack and web traffic series, plus the live ranked boards. Ask for up to five years of weekly history or growth over windows such as 3M, 12M and YTD.
Do I need a separate key for each client?
No. One TrendsConnector key works in every client and as a Bearer token for direct REST calls. Register it in each client you use.
