Does this work in Claude Desktop too?
Yes. Desktop takes the same connector, or the MCP config block from the docs connect guide with the server URL and your key as a Bearer header.
Do I need a Claude paid plan for connectors?
Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan. The TrendsConnector side only needs your free key.
Is TrendsConnector free in Claude?
Yes, to start. The Free plan includes 100 requests a month, every data source, and both MCP and API access, with no credit card. Paid plans (Starter $19, Pro $49, Business $199 a month) raise the request limit and history depth. Annual billing saves 20 percent.
Which sources can I query once this is connected?
Every source on the same key: Google Trends, Google Shopping, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Amazon, Wikipedia, news, app, Steam, npm, PyPI, X, Spotify, GitHub, IMDb, Open Library, Substack and web traffic series, plus the live ranked boards. Ask for up to five years of weekly history or growth over windows such as 3M, 12M and YTD.
